TomTom has let us know that the mount which enables RIDER owners to use their PND in the car as well, is now for sale on their site. This accessory costs ¤ 34,95 (£ 24) excluding shipping. The mount is shipped in a package which besides the mount itself, also contains a 12/24 volts car charger.Sound
TomTom also mention that, to be able to hear the voice commands, RIDER users will still have to use the earpiece, also in the car. In other words, this mount does not contain an external speaker. This is something we would have liked to have seen differently. In our opinion, TomTom really missed an opportunity here, because including an external speaker with the mount would have made the RIDER completely stand-alone, and thus completely equal to it's fellow TT PND's. Shame. For those who really do insist on using an external speaker, there is always the possibility to use a handsfree Bluetooth carkit, which can then be paired with the RIDER. However, it is important to note that TomTom does not officially support this option, and cannot guarantee that the RIDER will operate flawlessly in that setup.
