NavCore 8 now also for 'older' devices

June 5, 2008 - 18:22 h (update)¦8 replies
TomTom is now offering it's latest version of NavCore 8. The software is available for GO x30 & x20, ONE, ONE XL (HD Traffic) and ONE 3rd Edition.
NavCore 8 now also for 'older' devicesNavCore 8, the most recent release of TomTom's navigational software has already been available for quite some time now for the x30 range. Today TomTom started spreading a new version which also functions on 'older' PND's. This 8.010 version is apart from the x30 range also suited for the GO x20, the ONE and ONE XL 2008, the ONE XL HD Traffic and the ONE Third Edition. The software is offered for free through TomTom HOME.

NOT FULLY FEATURED!
Important comment is that the GO x30 range features a couple of novelties which are still NOT available on the older devices. Updating the software with this v8.010 does NOT change that fact! In particular we're referring to Traffic Lane Assistance and IQ Routes, which remain exclusive for the GO x30 range. Very disappointing…

For the other novelties (eg. more Map Share options) and further details with regards to NavCore 8 including experiences in practice, we would like to refer to our exclusive special 'NavCore 8: IQ Routes and Lane Guide Assistance'.

Installation
If you want to install the most recent version of TomTom's NavCore onto your device, you'll need to have TomTom's HOME desktop application installed onto your computer. Click HERE for more information on how to download and install TomTom HOME.

Every time you connect your PND to your computer via USB, HOME will automatically check if you are using the most recent version of NavCore.

Should be there be a new version available, it will show up on your screen. Make sure to select the update then, and click 'Download Updates'.
Important: do NOT undock/unplug your device from the computer until the installation has been completed! You will be notified on when to do so.

After downloading and installing the software, your TomTom GO, ONE or RIDER will be completely up-to-date once again

» Update ¦ June 6, 2008 - 20:04 h:
TomTom has temporarily pulled the update for the GO x20. A new version will be available shortly...

Why not run your news posts through a spell check? Or compose them in a word processor and then paste the text in here? It's quite grating and distracting to read a post which has so many spelling errors.

naviagtional, dissapointing, PND's etc.

Actually, only two spelling errors as you spotted, but be aware that this forum is not run entirely by native English speakers and as such I still think the standard of English written here puts many forum members' to shame.

But thank you for your input, we will endeavour to put right any more gratingly obvious errors in future.
