TomTom is now offering new map material for all their navigational systems. These maps are being released under version number 8.25.The material is based on the Tele Atlas October realease (version 2008.10) In this release, for the first time they used end-user feedback to determine changes in the road grid. This feedback had been offered by TomTom users, both in Europe and North America, who have reported errors or alterations in the map material via TomTom's Map Share technology.
For this release, Tele Atlas used user feedback to identify and validate more than 50,000 changes of street names and driving directions in both Europe and North America. In this version, the total number of changes reported through user feedback is already equally as large as the number of all other changes based on all other sources in North America and Europe combined.
