TomTom vernieuwt refurbished-aanbodA lot of our regular readers had already discovered TomTom's 'Refurbished' offerings: these are 'almost new' TomTom devices which are offered with substantial discounts on the TomTom site. The choice of devices to pick from was not all that great though. This has now changed; TomTom has completely renewed their offerings and now also offer the GO 920, GO 520 and ONE XL (first version) to their customers.

Refurbished
Not everybody is familiar with the term 'refurbished' devices. These devices are units which were broken at some point, but which have been completely overhauled by TomTom, tested and checked before receiving the seal of approval. Each of these devices are renewed with orginal TomTom parts, amongst which a brand new screen and cover, and they are shipped in new packaging. On the back of the units a few 'cosmetic imperfections' are still possible though. But rest assured: all these devices are on par with TomTom's high quality demands and are all offered with a nice (up to) 40% discount!

New maps
All refurbished TomTom SatNavs also receive the newest maps available for free. To be able to download those, a voucher is shipped with the unit. Once you receive the unit, all you need to do then is enter the voucher code into TomTom HOME, and all the rest happens automatically.

The new refurbished offerings consist of five TomTom devices:

ONE Regional (£ 89.99)
ONE Europe (£ 99.99)
ONE XL Europe (£ 129.99)
GO 520 (£ 169.99)
GO 920 (£ 239.99)

Those prices seem a little on the high side to me, for example you could get a 720R for less than what they are now charging for a 520R - Interesting that TomTom are now selling these themselves rather than off loading through specific retailers - Mike
