Anyone with a TomTom device can take advantage of TomTom Map Update Service. This service gives you every single release of your map over a fixed period, from the equivalent of just £ 7.95 per quarter.
This service is designed for those who already have a TomTom device and is based on your current map. If you don't have the latest map, TomTom will offer you an upgrade at a discounted price. This will be calculated depending on the age of your map.
After that you will be prompted every time a new release of your map becomes available by TomTom HOME.

Throughout March you can get an additional 6 months from TomTom Map Update Service. You will pay for 12 months and use the service for 18 months. This means you get 2 extra map updates for free.

Shame I updated mine on 24 February. It's a hard world.
My map was more recent so I think the upgrade was cheaper. So maybe the overall benefits are similar. I remember thinking that usually maps go on sale at a 40% reduction, so I was getting the equivalent of two brand new annual map upgrades at a 52% reduction. If that sounds confusing.. it is quite late at night!!
The problem I am having is that I have been purchasing the map upgrade packages since the start, sending updates via map share. I am not seeing any changes, both in roads and postcodes. Now that my current upgrade package has come to the end, I do not intend renewing as it appears to me that I am not getting the service I am paying for.
My work has me driving around the Teesside and North Yorkshire area on a daily basis, I am finding roads created over the past 5 years have yet to appear in the TT maps.
I intend monitoring the TT Route Planner, when I see significant changes, then I will consider purchasing a new map.
I now find myself having to rely on Google Maps a lot more for new roads, I am also using Waze, so when I find a new road I can update it myself.
