Yipee, my 910 was starting to look a bit battered and scratched, nice to see that they have not changed the layout of the remote too much, I'll staill be able to use it without looking at it.

Do I take it that we will have to wait for yourNAV boffins to get their hands on a device to find out whats in the box, ie external mic

Very nice indeed - this looks like the "Bees' Knees". The estimated price of the non-T model seems very good too - £405 at this morning's exchange rate. Can't wait.

I agree the 920 looks nice but am I right in thinking it has a sum total of 4Gb of memory and no method of expansion?

Cheers Paul

You have obviously never driven a Defender 90 at motorway speed.

Colin

P.S. Your grammar and punctuation are abysmal.

Hi Paul,

The 4GB flash memory is a bit mean, but should take all the maps, voices, POIs, etc. The unit will also take an SD card which gives another 4GB; not sure yet if they are SDHC compatible, but that would give you an extra 32GB with the largest card size (if and when they become available!). Only really needed I guess if you wish to load lots of music and photos (which is mostly a waste of time, in my opinion).

Ciao,

Colin rolleyes.gif

Thanks Jessica, one less wire to worry about.

Do you think that a reduction from 20 gig to 4 is as a result of the data Tom Tom collects when we connect to Home. Do they think we do not need the extra, and are we still going to be restricted as to the number if POI's.

And sorry Colin if me spelin and punktuashun offends

Thanks Colin,

I didn't ping the additional SD slot so given that my 910 has 11Gb free at the moment (from its 20Gb available) I guess I could squeeze all my tunes onto a 4Gb card! lol.gif

Incidently, got 300 miles to do in my Defender 90 this weekend, I'm not even going to bother with the handsfree! tease.gif

Cheers Paul

Will the new 920 have Loquendo TTS? This is one of the main reasons that I will hold on to my 910 for the foreseeable future.( to my knowledge) No other PND on the market has yet matched the quality of the loquendo TTS on the 910. Please let me know if I am wrong on this point.

The whole new range (520, 720 and 920) have Loquendo TTS.

However, the voice files on the 520 and 720 are much smaller than the 910 ones and the quality is apparently not so good (I've never heard a 910, but they are definitly a bit distorted on my 720). Not heard aboutthem on the 920 yet.
