Everything seems to be working alright except for this one important point. When I use TomTom to make a phone call my Sony mobile will either let the phone call be heard through the phone speaker or on TomTom's speaker. I am trying very hard to get phone sound out of the car speakers. I can only do this when I turn off TomTom, and use only the phone and car stereo. How can I get all three working togther ?

I cant help much with the Tomtom side of it as ive not played with a BT enabled one, but heres what I think.....

If you have your phone paired with the Sony unit, delete the pairing from both. Phones can be paired with lots of devices, but only connected to one at a time (there are a few exceptions but the C902 isnt one of them).

I seem to remember a post on this forum about tomtom units being able to be paired AND connected to two devices at once although I cant find it at the moment. Similarly, the Sony stereo can be paired with numerous devices (up to 5 I think) but only connected to one at a time.

Therefore, I suggest:

Delete all pairings and start again.

Pair the tomtom with your Sony stereo unit, and make sure it works.

Then turn off the stereo and pair your phone with the tomtom, and again, see if it works.

Then turn on all three units and see if the tomtom will connect to both at once. If it will it should work

Consider the iO-Play device for the car this connects to the TomTom for directional instructions and warnings as well as music all via mp3, it also connects to the phone for handsfree at the same time, calls are then played through the car speakers although using this method the TomTom isn't connected to the phone at all (it doesn't need to be) - This works far better in use than anything I have ever tried before.

As for number of bluetooth devices a TomTom can use at once:

Mobile Phone for handsfree
A2DP HiFi Audio device for sound output
Remote control

All three can be connected at once and work.

You will NEVER get the phones audio via the TomTom to the car speakers as its not possible, if this is important consider the iO-Play module mentioned above - Mike

Can anyone verify that the IO Play unit would then give me telephone output with my TomTom into my car speakers ?

Hi Andy, I have answered this question twice already this morning on other forums ;)

In short yes you can have BT audio from the TomTom and handsfree from the phone via Bluetooth in to the car speakers if you use the iO-Play unit - Mike
