Any memory card up to and including 32GB will be fine in your device, the third party mp3 players/ video players can work with some Navcore releases then an update renders it broken (again), choice is yours but if you wanted mp3 player support you really should have sought out a 940 to purchase (the last decent device TT manufactured IMHO) - Mike

Hi ma001
Thanks for the reply
My 550 live was from my Wife
Its a upgrade from TomTom Go I have had for years

Any how once the third party mp3 players/ video players etc are on SD card can I not just remove the card then update the 550 and replace the card or am I missing something

All I am saying is there is no guarantee that post a software update to the device, that your third party mp3 player will work without the software writers issuing an update, this might or might no happen but you should be aware of it.

In addition to get the audio out of the TomTom to your car stereo will require either a car deck that supports A2DP Bluetooth or to use the Aux line in will require a different accessory mount for the TomTom which has the line out socket fitted to it - Mike

The last version of ttmplayer is working on devices with NavCore 9 but you have to search the www for a download source since it's original website http://ttmplayer.homeunix.de/page/ is not available any more.
