» XL Classic general help please... Options

Hi

I'm thinking of buying the XL Classic Europe. I can't find much about it here and it doesn't appear on the tomtom website at all. Does anyone have one?

If so can I ask a couple of questions?

Does it have Lane Guidance?
Can I use my RDS traffic cable thingy?
In terms of a brodit clip - is it compatible with another model - I can't see a specific clip for it?
What's the battery life like?

TomTom have a habit of changing the names of their models, especially when they re-release them.

If you look on the TomTom website for the "ONE XL" (listed in the "original products" section in the list on the left-hand side)
you should find all the info.
You can also download the manual for it, if you click on "support" at the top of the main page and then "Downloads" on the right hand side.

You should be able to use the USB version of the RDS Traffic receiver with it. The TT website page for it says it is compatible.

Not sure if the maps for it have ALG, someone else can hopefully confirm either way.

Now you know the real name of it, you might find the search for a mount easier too!

Battery life will probably be a couple of hours max. Like all TomToms they are really only designed to be used with the power supply, with the battery just for emergencies.

Had the original oneXL ie no internal memory, only SD card, subsequent One XLs had internal memory. As far as I know it was not until the XL IQ was launched that ALG became available. Prior to that the software was v 8.010 which did not support it.
