QUOTE (garyparson @ Sep 27 2006, 18:31) *
why couldn't they use the usb slot on the one?

My guess is the USB on the ONE is a slave USB slot, and not a master USB slot. Hence, it can only be used to either charge the GO or have the GO *be* controlled (by a computer). The GO cannot control external devices with it. (like eg. a TMC antenna)

according to the axia website the won't charge you if you swing by to pick your goods up yourself..
axia delivery info

edit: nice to see the price dropping, but it's still a long way from the 69 euros charged in germany. which i don't get, i'd guess the prices would be about the same in the uk as in the rest of europe.

QUOTE (lsainsbury @ Sep 27 2006, 17:36) *
As it's an FM signal I assume it could be placed under the seat and it would still get the signal?

What makes you think that?
When I've tried an ordinary FM portable radio in cars (or vans actually) without a built-in one, the reception has always been awful unless it is perched on the dashboard.

60.34 (£40.43) from http://www.steckenborn.de - they ship to the UK if your german is up to it. Not sure about postage but it's usually not too bad from europe.

After 4 months of waiting I'm starting to become a little hacked off with Tomtom. They are acting like a small backstreet company akin to Del Boy.Its bad enough having to catch the b*****y thing when it falls off the windscreen, i was hoping the cable attached to the tmc receiver would stop it from hitting the floor. I'l have to find another way of suspending it from the roof.I'm beginning to doubt my sanity in purchasing this £500 lemon crazy.gif clapping.gif fool.gif tease.gif

1) Does the TomTom RDS TMC receiver work with an Athermic windscreen?

2) If not is it waterproof so it can be fixed externally?

3) Also can the cable be lengthened with a extension cable with a male/female 2.5mm connectors as it is only 120 cm long & will it still work or is there a limit on length of cable?

How is it that Tomtom still don't have the TMC on sale on their own site. Am I missing something? unsure.gif

Reply from Tom Tom to an email I sent them asking where the f*** is the TMC device:

QUOTE
Dear Mr Sainsbury,

The TMC traffic receiver will be released within the next few days. Check with retailers in your area or buy one from tomtom.com when they become available.

With best regards,

Just ordered tmc from ebay Germany with delivery for £59.99p depends on exchange rate. If you go to ebay and ask for tom tom tmc on worldwide selection, it should bring it up. Only has, at last look 38 left out of 50.

If anyone is still interested, the guy who was selling TMC on eBay (thanks Wombat smile.gif ) is still selling them on his German website at:

www.sc-prestige.de

I ordered mine yesterday (with the aid of my German neighbour!) and he sent me an e-mail today confirming receipt of my payment and said that I can expect delivery in 3-4 days. good.gif

Just got to hope TMC actually works now!!

Cheers Paul
